Mark Smith, Violin/Viola

Mark Smith has been a violin and viola pedagogue for 25 years.  He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Viola Performance from Indiana University, and a Master of Music degree in Viola Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. He has performed with the Portland (ME) Symphony, New Hampshire Symphony and the Boston Pops Orchestra as well as numerous solo and chamber music concerts. He has taught at the Phillips Academy in Andover Massachusetts, the Suzuki School of Newton, New England Conservatory of Music, Masachussetts Institute of Technology, the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, and teaches a worth of students in his home. An active clinician and traveling teacher, Mr. Smith has taught at Suzuki summer music camps in Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Washington DC. He currently teaches strings, grades three  through eight, for the Needham Public Schools.  He has been married for 24 years, and has two children, Chris and Evan.


The Pennsylvania Suzuki Institute is an official Instititute of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and is sponsored by The Central Pennsylvania Suzuki Assocation.
