Arts and Crafts

A very popular class for kids who love to create!  Each year, Miss Dena plans new crafts to do.  Crafts in the past have included painting, making puppets, sewing bags, clay, etc. Recommended for kids ages 8 and under.

Blue Grass Band/Old-Timey Music

This is the second year we have offered this class. It was a huge hit last summer! Play from the old time catalog of American folk music borne and developed in the Appalachian region. Students will learn history, technique, and have fun playing and preparing a couple songs for the Enrichment concert.

Violin, viola, and cello students in books 3 and up are welcome.

For violinists in Suzuki Books 2 and up who are interested in learning the rich folk traditions and songs associated with fiddling.  Chris Brennan-Hagy, a well-known fiddler and Suzuki teacher, will teach the technique associated with the genre as well as several songs that are typical of different fiddling styles.  The students will master a few pieces and perform them on the Enrichment concert.

Kinderdance programs teach to the total child. Each program blends the physical skills of creative movement, gymnastics, fitness, and dance while learning educational concepts, words, and songs.  Early ballet concepts, strength. balance, body awareness, gross motor skills, rhythm, music and imagery are included in all the classes. Children (and siblings) ages 2-7 are welcome to join!
